Staying close to customers in Russia

In June 2013, FLSmidth opened a Local Service Unit (LSU) in Kolomna in the Moscow region. As part of our new Group strategy, LSU’s are being set up in various places around the world to support customers within a local region with technical services and spare parts.

The new Russian LSU has a 1,500 m2 warehouse and workshop that offers repair and refurbishment of kiln rollers, bearings, vertical mill grinding rollers, hydraulic parts, burner pipes, etc.

The LSU provides a wide array of spares to customers on request. It offers to clear spare parts through customs based on DDP delivery conditions and will maintain a stock of critical parts such as linings and cast central pipes based on specific customer agreements. To be even more efficient, FLSmidth is just now looking for local manufacturers to provide parts based on FLSmidth standards and quality specifications.

     

A wide range of services are available from the LSU, including inspections, alignment, measurements, troubleshooting, refurbishments and replacements. The Kolomna workshop has the necessary tools to carry out repair jobs professionally and with a view to reducing downtime of kilns and mills.

The overall objective of the Kolomna LSU is to help Russian cement and minerals customers extend the lifetime and enhance the availability of their equipment. This  
is done through innovative service solu-tions carried out by local and global  service specialists.
