More than 170 key stakeholders from the Pakistani cement industry recently participated in the 2017 FLSmidth seminars in Pakistan.
Hosted by 28 representatives from the FLSmidth Group, the seminars, held in Lahore and Karachi brought the combined knowledge of FLSmidth specialists and sales people directly to the local cement industry. Customers were introduced to both the wide range of FLSmidth solutions and the newly established FLSmidth team in Islamabad.
‘Sustainable Productivity in the Cement Industry’
The theme of the seminar was ‘Sustainable Productivity in the Cement Industry’ and the programme focused on the latest technologies from a strategic and investment point of view. The seminars provided the participants with the opportunity to learn more about a variety of technologies– from raw materials grinding to the packing plant.
The presentations covered diverse topics such as achieving a swift return on investment in materials handling projects and trends in harmful emissions control. As a result, the content was applicable to all cement industry stakeholders, from process managers, production and maintenance managers, to plant managers and owners. Participants praised the technical programme, with one confirming ‘The level of practical information was great’. Another commented that one of the key takeaways from the seminar was the connection with relevant FLSmidth experts, which allowed him to begin the process of collaborating with FLSmidth on an expansion project. Many others were appreciative of the updates on the latest cement industry trends and technologies.
Global expertise, local presence
FLSmidth was delighted by the impact of the program. Per Mejnert Kristensen, President, Cement Division, called the seminars ‘one of the most successful ever’, adding: ‘The feedback I got when talking to the customers was very positive’.
There are plans to arrange similar events for customers throughout 2018 elsewhere as part of FLSmidth’s aim to make its team of experts easily accessible to all customers.
